What is moe in Ojalytician sense?
十月 10, 2009
We know that the term “moe otakus” does not refer to any of real otakus but those ACG fans fonding of binary characters of opposite sex. When referring to this context, moe should be pronounced without liaison, that is, MO-E (萌え). Clearly 2 syllables.
Nevertheless, Ojalytician otakus, who concentrate on ideological studies, also use the term “moe”, but the pronunciation will make a difference: liaison must be used so that it sounds single syllable: Moi, or in French mode, Moé
This implies that when we call an Ojalytician otaku as moe, we refer to different context that is irrespective of ACG: We indicate ENFJ (Please refer to “MBTI” article in Wikipedia if you don’t know what ENFJ means) by giving the nomenclature “NeoConfucian Moe Otakus“ i.e. - in Keirsey Role Variant (Humanist Psychometrics) – , Teachers.
Then we consider another perspective of Ojalytician otakus: Okadaian Otakus. Apparently, the term implies those having styles that resemble Okada Toshio (OTAKING)’s schema in the book called “Introduction to Otakuology”, but as he has said recently, “Otakus are dead”, so the adjective of nomenclature “Okadaian” does not imply full inheritance of OTAKING’s specification. For example, OTAKING demand real otakus (NOT MO-E otakus) to be maniac, but in Ojalytician sense, maniac=fans, which implies collective fundamentalism that defies the basic definition of otakus as leaders (EN*J). Therefore, the full name of Okadaian Otakus is those ENTJ weak at Judging, or NeoConfucian Post-Okadaian Otakus, or simply Ojalytician Otakus that demands introspection. So even if an Okadaian Otaku has very limited knowledge of Japanese, he/she can still master ideologies of ACG culture, which is generic.
